In addition, the UW Beta's also received the Sisson Award, the Virginia Tech Award for Academics, The Risk Management Award, the Charles Henry Hardin Award for Leadership Development, and the Website Excellence Award (given only to 1 chapter, the others all have multiple).

The Beta Omega Parents Club is more active then ever. While continuing to do the quarterly events of Holiday Decorations and Finals Feasts, our parents club is ambitiously planning additional events to make the Beta experience a more beneficial one. On April 11th, the Parents Club and active members had a mother-son brunch at the Sandpoint Country Club. All of the mom’s brought items to be auctioned off, raising over $3,000. The money will be used to make improvements around the house, including new furniture for the sun deck and $1,500 for a new internet server.
The Beta Omega Parents Club is at it again, and this time the occasion was beautification! Actives in the Beta Omega, along with the help of twenty parent volunteers, spent a sunny day landscaping the front and side planters of the Beta Omega house. Previously dormant planters facing 47th street got a agricultural makeover, replacing the weed infested dirt with fir trees and fresh top soil. A few hours of labor is well worth the new aesthetics of the Beta Omega house.
Graduation is just around the corner, and the seniors of Beta Omega are ready to graduate after four years of hard work. In honor of them, the Beta Omega Parents Club funded a senior celebration night of fun, food, and festivities. The theme was “Huskies for Life”, and decorations covered the house from bottom to top, including: banners, balloon bouquets, and individual senior posters for the active chapter members to sign. With blue skies and good company, seniors and their parents enjoyed catered cuisine on the sun deck. After the cake was served, Blake Nordstrom gave an inspiring speech and presented each senior with an engraved money clip. This senior class was fundamental to the success in recent years and will be greatly missed.
The men of Beta Omega studied hard through the winter and came out on top. With an all house GPA of 3.43, Beta Omega ranked first out of 30 fraternities, which is well above the all fraternity GPA of 3.21. Considering Beta Omega submitted 100 members, this is an outstanding achievement. Over half of the brothers were on the prestigious Dean’s List, requiring at least a 3.5 GPA. For the second straight quarter Beta Theta Pi has shown its excellence in academics and looks forward to continuing the cultivation of the intellect.

Congratulations to Jim Clack for winning Regional Alumni Volunteer of the Year and to Max Harden for being recognized as Regional Outstanding Senior of the Year! The entire Beta Omega Chapter also took home the award for Leadership Development.
On February 24th, the Beta Omega executive team and distinguished alumni gathered at the HUB on campus for the annual University of Washington Interfraternity Council Awards Banquet. Overall, Beta's won or placed top 3 in nine of the fifteen potential categories. Especially impressive considering there are 31 fraternities on campus and Beta's received first place in 20% of the awards!
The Beta Omega chapter of Beta Theta Pi ranked first out of 30 fraternities with a 3.37 average GPA. They are currently well above the all fraternity average of 3.18, and above the all sorority average of 3.33. This is a huge accomplishment especially considering that Beta's are one of the largest houses on campus with over 80 live-in members and at the most academically rigorous school in the region.
